A lot of us have plans for New Year's Eve, and if they include drinking, Windsor police want you to do the responsible thing.
"If you didn't have a designated driver and all of that set in place to call a cab, to call a friend to come pick you up, or just stay the night wherever you're at," says Constable Andrew Drouillard. "Just don't go on the roadways and put everybody in danger."
In a bid to get the public's attention, police have gotten creative in the delivery of their message.

The video, titled "We Can't Turn Back Time", has been viewed over 25,000 times on YouTube.
It shows a young woman considering the consequences of drinking and driving, and making the decision to call a friend after having a couple of drinks at a party.
Under the Criminal Code of Canada, the legal limit is 0.08 mg of alcohol for every 100 mL of blood, but an officer can suspend your license even if your blood-alcohol level is 0.05 mg. One standard drink is considered 12 oz of beer, 5 oz of wine or 1.5 oz of hard liquor. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the U.S., the average man who weighs 200 lbs will blow 0.007 mg if he has one beer in an hour, while the average woman weighing 150 lbs will blow 0.0184 mg.
If you're caught impaired behind the wheel, Drouillard says the consequences can be severe.
"You can get arrested. You can have your license suspended for a number of months," says Drouillard. "And then you're faced with high court costs with your trial."
