Windsor is celebrating its 125th birthday this weekend with loads of family activities and a street party in downtown Windsor.
The Annual Mayor's Walk kicks off at Assumption Park around 9:30am. During the walk, officials will highlight interesting facts about Windsor's history. They will also make a stop at Ouellette Ave. and Riverside Dr. where the Great Canadian Flag will be raised for the first time.
Free family activities will be held in the park, next the the Art Gallery and Chimczuk Museum, starting at 10am and running until 5pm. Along Riverside Dr., there will be road hockey, bike obstacle courses, and 1,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space for the "Together Exhibit" which shares stories from around the globe.
The Chimczuk Museum and Art Gallery of Windsor will also have free admission to honour the day.
Patios will be extended downtown and various stages will be set up for entertainment throughout the downtown corridor. Of course, there will also be big screens set up to catch Memorial Cup action. Extended patios start at 3pm.
