The City of Windsor says it is starting construction soon on the municipally owned Roseland Golf and Curling Club to help prevent flooding in nearby homes.
During rainy weather, five new ponds will help divert water away from homes in the Lennon drain and Roseland neighbourhoods.
"One of the really exciting aspects of this for golfers is that this will return the water challenges to the course as they existed in the original 1926 designed," says General Manager Phil Roberts.
The water features will be built around the eighth and ninth holes and will include aquatic habitat enhancements, trees, and stormwater management improvements.
Construction will close a portion of the main course and the entire Par 3 short course for much of October.
Starting Monday, September 25 the city will offer a special rate for a fall nine-hole playing configuration with a bonus hole.
