Windsor Police Arrest Pair In A Stolen Vehicle

Windsor police have arrested a man and a woman suspected in at least one break-and-enter.

Police say a home on Joinville Ave. near Fountainbleu Park was broken into on Wednesday. The resident told police a window and a door were wide open. A car key had been removed, and a vehicle was stolen.

The vehicle was discovered in a parking lot near Tecumseh Mall later Wednesday evening with the man and woman inside. Both were taken into custody. A key fob was among the items discovered in the vehicle, reported stolen in a previous incident.

The man and woman were also allegedly in violation of a condition not to associate with each other.

Police say the male is a suspect in at least two other break-and-enters. One took place on May 18 when the suspect attempted to enter a home on Riverside Drive E near St. Louis Ave. He fled after the homeowner made contact with him through video surveillance. The second occurred on May 24 at a home on Central Ave. near Seminole St.

The 29-year-old male suspect is charged with break-and-enter, attempted break-and-enter, motor vehicle theft, possession of stolen property over and under $5,000 and breach of recognisance.

The female suspect, 30, is charged with break-and-enter, motor vehicle theft, possession of stolen property over and under $5,000 and breach of recognisance.

The Windsor police property crimes unit is still investigating. Anyone with information on any part of this investigation should call WPS at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4350, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).
