Windsor police have laid additional charges against two people in an ongoing fraud investigation.
Back in June, a complainant went to the Amherstburg detachment of Windsor police reporting possible online fraud. An investigation by the Financial Crimes Unit determined that stolen credit card information was being used online and purchases were being delivered to a home in Windsor.
Officers executed a search warrant on a home on Capitol Street near Remington Avenue on September 11, seizing several items believed to be stolen. On Tuesday, investigators announced they had confirmed those items as stolen. As a result, the additional charges were filed.
According to Constable Talya Natyshak, Michael Allard of Windsor is now charged with 16 counts of possessing someone else's identity documents, 11 counts of possession of stolen property, fraud under $5,000, and use of credit card data without authorization.
Stephanie Fink of Windsor is now charged with 16 counts of possessing someone else's identity documents, 12 counts of possession of stolen property, four counts apiece of fraud under $5,000 and unauthorized use of credit card data. Also, one count each has been filed for personation and attempted fraud under $5,000.
These charges have not been proven in court.
