Like Windsor did years ago and continues to, the City of Detroit plans to reimagine its riverfront.
Over the next year, it will consult with virtual focus groups and gather public input on how Detroiters use municipal parks and properties along the Detroit River.
"We really want to hear from everyone who cares about the future of these great Detroit riverfront treasures," said Brad Dick, the Group Executive of Services and Infrastructure for the City of Detroit.
After that, a plan will be formulated to create vibrant and sustainable attractions along its riverfront.
The sites the city is looking at include the Civic Centre, Hart Plaza, the Joe Louis Fist and Spirit Plaza, the Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre, and Riverside Marina and the St. Jean Boat Launch.

Over the next five years, the condition of each site will be studied to find out what repairs are needed and how much it will cost the city. The study will also create a plan to maintain those sites.
