Unlike their counterparts in the public school board, students attending English Catholic schools in Windsor-Essex will start their online classes on Monday.
The Greater Essex County District School Board will not start remote learning for all of its students until Tuesday. It said it needed the extra time to prepare for full online learning, and classes will start on Tuesday.
The Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board said elementary school teachers would connect with their students Monday morning and provide them with work to complete in the afternoon.
Students at St. Isidore who were learning virtually before the April Break will continue with their regular online classes on Monday.
For high school students, quadmester 4 will continue as previously scheduled on Wednesday, April 21, with classes in the morning and afternoon.
Cohorts A, B, and D, Monday and Tuesday, will receive their morning block at the same time. The afternoon class will be delivered asynchronously.
Some students with special needs will continue their in-school learning, but not until Tuesday. Monday will be a transition day for those students. Busing will not be available until Tuesday.
The board said any parents who still need technology for their child to learn online should call their school office, but ask that you keep in mind resources are limited.
So far, Education Minister Stephen Lecce has not provided a timeline for the return to in-school instruction.
