Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens is looking for commitments from federal candidates on important issues for the city.
He's launched a "Platform 4 Windsor" that highlights five issues that are top of mind for the mayor and the city. All five issues have also been supported through resolutions of City Council.
“As mayor, my goal is to ensure that the key priorities for the City of Windsor are part of this year’s election debate,” said Mayor Dilkens. “These five items are vital for our city and I’m confident that every candidate for election can easily get behind these priorities as they seek your vote this campaign.”
The five priorities include health care funding to support the construction of the new hospital, securing a grant for the redevelopment of Adie Knox Herman Recreation Complex, additional funding for investments in the automotive sector, the Ojibway Park complex, and funding for flood protection.
Dilkens has launched a website highlighting the key priorities and encouraging all candidates to affirm support for each issue. The website will be updated once individual candidates confirm their commitment to these local priorities.
The federal election is on September 20, 2021.
