A local community has moved its permit application process online.
The Municipality of Leamington has introduced the Cloudpermit software, an e-permit system that allows the user to apply for a building permit online, as well as monitor the steps toward approval.
"We continue to look for ways to modernize services and offer convenient ways to support residents and businesses efficiently," said Leamington CAO Peter Neufeld. "This end-to-end electronic permitting process improves customer service and reduces the cost of service delivery for the municipality."
With the application, users can use it to check the status of a permit or inspection request, schedule and cancel building inspections, request changes to an existing permit, and communicate with the building department.
All applicants are now encouraged to use the online system. For those with paper applications, help is available at the Municipal Building to move to the online version.
For now, the municipality will accept cheque, bank, or money order payments, as well as debit during normal business hours.
An online payment option is in the works and will be ready later this year. Cloudpermit will also be prepared at that time to handle permit applications for land development projects.
