DWBIA looking for Canada Day vendors

The Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association (DWBIA) wants vendors to help celebrate Canada's birthday.

The DWBIA will hold a Canada Day Arts Fair on the streets of downtown Windsor, and it has put out the call to vendors to participate.

The association has opened up applications for people offering merchandise like vintage clothing, home decor, collectibles, crafts, art pieces, electronics, books, and toys.

The Canada Day Arts Fair will take place on July 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will be set up on Ouellette Avenue between University Avenue and Chatham Street, and on University between Pelissier Street and Freedom Way.

Live music, street performers, face painting, and other activities will also be taking place as Canada celebrates its 155th birthday.

You can download the application on the DWBIA website. The cost for DWBIA members is $20 per vendor and $25 for non-members.

Interested vendors must have an application submitted no later than ten days before the event. Vendors representing political causes or organizations will not be accepted. For those wishing to distribute political material, please contact the DWBIA directly to obtain permission.

The Windsor Parade Corporation has also announced the return of the annual Canada Day Parade after a COVID-19 hiatus. It steps off at 11 a.m. July 1 at Wyandotte Street East and Devonshire, then heads west on Wyandotte before ending on Aylmer Avenue.
