Windsor dad collects $100K lottery prize

Being an occasional lottery player paid off in a big way for a Windsor man.

Husband and father Denis Desbiens heard about the OLG's limited-time "Merry Millions" game from a coworker and decided to try it.

Later, Desbiens said something awakened him and led him to check his tickets.

"I woke up in the middle of the night when I saw my tickets on the fridge and decided to scan them. The second ticket was a winner. I was super excited, I never win anything," said Desbiens.

Desbiens won a $100,000 prize. He collected his prize cheque last week at the OLG's Toronto Prize Centre.

With another child on the way, Desbiens said the money would be used to build a nursery and complete home renovations.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Two Brothers Convenience store on Grand Marais Road in Windsor.

"Merry Millions" was a draw game rolled out for the holiday season. The OLG said only 500,000 tickets were available for $20 a play.
