The City of Windsor invites you to take part in the excitement of the Detroit International Free Press Marathon.
A list of activities is planned downtown for the weekend of the big race on October 20.
They include a call for residents to line Riverside Drive to cheer on the 26,000 runners expected to participate in the cross-border marathon. People should come out at 7 a.m. on Sunday, October 20.
The city plans to set up a Canadian Cheer Zone in the Vision Corridor alongside Chimczuk Museum and Art Windsor-Essex.
On Saturday, October 19, residents can take in the Downtown Windsor Farmers' Market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pelissier Street Parking Garage.
Later that day, the Windsor Zombie Walk starts at the northeast corner of Tuscarora Street and Ouellette Avenue. The zombie hoard meets at 4:30 p.m. and is on the move at 6 p.m. The money raised supports the Downtown Mission.
