Spitfires first in OHL to 10 wins after beating Niagara

It was a battle of the two best teams in the OHL Saturday night as Windsor played host to Niagara.

The Spitfires ended up with the win, beating the IceDogs 2-1.

AJ Spellacy would open the scoring for the Spitfires with his 4th goal in the first period. Ethan Belchetz and Owen Outwater each with as assist on the play.

There wouldn’t be another goal until there was less than a minute left in the second period as Niagara’s Sean Doherty would tie the game on the powerplay.

The Spitfires would regain the lead around five minutes into the third period when Jack Nesbitt found the back of the net for his 9th of the season. Liam Greentree and Ryan Abraham with the helpers.

That was all the scoring as Windsor goalie Joey Costanzo would shut the door the rest of the way, making 32 saves in total.

With the win, the Spitfires improve its record drop to 10-1-1-0, while Niagara moves to 9-3-0-0.

Windsor's next game is on Wednesday, October 30, at home against the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.
