100 Women Windsor-Essex come through for Windsor Goodfellows

A donation from 100 Women Windsor-Essex is enough to put the Windsor Goodfellows over the top after its paper drive last month fell short.

The group presented the agency with a cheque for $14,700 to fund its programs, including the Christmas Hamper program, the shoe and boot program, a snack and lunch program at schools, and the lunch bag initiative for those experiencing homelessness.

Windsor Goodfellows President Brian Beaumont was thrilled.

"We are so grateful for the incredible support of 100 Women Windsor-Essex," he said. "Their generosity will have an immediate impact, helping us continue to deliver these crucial services at a time when they are needed most."

The Windsor Goodfellows had hoped to raise $375,000 in last month's paper drive. A total of $366,000 was donated over three days. The organization's mail-in campaign is ongoing.

Beaumont said the organization anticipates running a smaller deficit this year. Last year, it made strategic cuts to programming.
