Tecumseh adopts budget with 3.7 per cent consolidated increase

Property owners in Tecumseh will pay 3.7 per cent more on their property tax bills this year.

The 3.7 per cent is the consolidated increase adopted by Tecumseh Town Council on Tuesday night. It includes the school board and county portions.

This will mean $155 more a year for the average homeowner with a home valued at $275,000.

The town says the budget is a strategic plan that balances affordable, high-quality programs and services.

This year's priorities include improvements on the Lesperance Road Trail between Riverside Drive and First Street, a northbound right-hand turning lane on Lesperance Road at County Road 22, and new washrooms, a pavilion, and a water feature in Lakewood Park South.
