Suspect wanted for passing $1500 in counterfeit cash

Windsor police are looking for a man suspected of passing "funny money" at local drugstores.

Investigators from the Financial Crimes Unit began looking into a series of incidents between February 7 and 10. The suspect visited four pharmacies throughout the city and allegedly used $1,500 in counterfeit money to pay for gift cards.

Police say the suspect has been identified as 21-year-old David James Ufimzeff.

He has a warrant on four counts apiece of fraud under $5,000, uttering counterfeit money, possession of counterfeit money, and possession of stolen property.

Anyone with information on these incidents or Ufimzeff's whereabouts should call the Windsor police's Financial Crimes Unit at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4330. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).
