The Downtown Windsor Farmers Market has reached a milestone for the first time.
It's sold out.
The market reported this week that all of its available vendor spaces are occupied for the first time in its 16-year history.
The 2025 season began on March 27.
"Selling out vendor space this early is a testament not only to the market's expansion but to the community's commitment to purchasing local," said Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association (DWBIA) Chair Chris MacLeod. "From heirloom tomatoes to handmade ceramics, our vendors are the heart of downtown Windsor, and the response has been amazing."
There are 70 vendors participating in the market every Saturday on Pelissier Street, 40 of them are newcomers.
Market manager Steve Green said visitors are coming out in droves.
"We’ve seen lineups for fresh-cut flowers, locally roasted coffee, and a myriad of food samplings, it’s clear Windsorites are eager to connect with their neighbours and farmers," said Green. "This sold-out season is a win for everyone: vendors grow their businesses, shoppers get the best of the region, and downtown thrives."
The market is open each Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through October 25.
