OPP busy once again with alleged impaired drivers

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) had their hands full once more earlier this week.

Over 24 hours, Essex County officers handled at least three alleged impaired driving complaints.

The first was Friday night in Lakeshore. At around 11:30 p.m., a traffic stop was conducted on the Deer Run Trail. The 42-year-old driver from Lakeshore was charged with impaired driving and driving with excessive blood-alcohol concentration.

The second was early Saturday morning in Essex. Officers followed up on a traffic complaint on County Road 11. A 37-year-old from Lakeshore was charged with dangerous driving, impaired driving, and driving with high blood alcohol.

The third incident was on Saturday night in Lakeshore, with a traffic stop on Dupuis Street. The 47-year-old driver from Belle River was charged with impaired driving and driving with high blood alcohol.

In all three cases, drivers had their licences suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles were impounded for seven days.

The charges have not been proven in court.

All three drivers will be able to respond to them in a Windsor court during the first full week of May.
