City of Windsor's final 2025 tax bills sent out

A key document has been sent to Windsor's residents and business owners.

The City has sent out the final property tax bills for 2025. Residents and property owners should be receiving them as of Monday morning.

Due dates for regular tax payments are July 16, September 17, and November 19. Payment must be received on or before the dates.

Failure to receive a notice does not excuse the recipient from payment. Late payments could generate interest of up to 15 per cent of the taxes on an annual basis.

Payments can be made through your bank, credit union, or trust company.

The City also said options are available for those using a mortgage company.

"Select mortgage institutions offer property tax payment services," read a release from the City. "If you have made arrangements for your mortgage company to pay your property taxes, you will receive a tax bill for your records only. Your billing information has also been sent to the mortgage company for payment. If you have recently modified your mortgage terms, it is your responsibility to ensure the mortgage company continues to remit property tax payments."

Tax payments may also be made by telephone or online banking, by mail with a cheque only, or in person by cheque at the first-floor drop box at 350 City Hall Square West.

The City also offers three pre-authorized payment plans, for which enrollment can be completed at any time. If you're having difficulty with payments, lower-cost financing is available through many banks and credit unions. The City also offers a tax relief program, a tax repayment program, and a tax deferral program. Details are on the City's official website.

If you have not received your final tax bill by Monday, call 311 or use the 311 app.
