The Windsor-Essex Chamber of Commerce is facing one of its most challenging times as it approaches its 150th year in the community.
Businesses throughout the community are facing economic uncertainty as trade wars with the United States continues.
"I do think this is an opportunity for the Chamber of Commerce and our regionally economic development ecosystem to all come together, bond together, and support each other. This is definitely a time that you need the entire community to support each other and I think the camber is going to play an integral role in that," said Ryan Donnally, president and CEO.
Donnally indicated the chamber will continue to promote the best interest of its members and will be the voice for buisness among governments and the academic sector.
"I can't reflect on the whole 150 years but there's been a lot of years throughout that 150 that have been challenging," said Donnally. "Most recently, the 2008 auto crisis was a tough time for Windsor-Essex, COVID of course has been challenging."
The Chamber of Commerce will be celebrating its 150th anniversary starting in August by honouring its long standing members and hosting a special retrospective Business Excellence Awards in the spring.
