Lakeshore municipal services back at town hall

Municipal staff have moved back into the Lakeshore Town Hall after 10 months of renovations.

The renovations were focused on customer service and accessibility for municipal services. The project included eight new customer service kiosks and new office space for staff.

"All the customer service area has been redone, we've introduced a brand new customer service counter so that people can come in and it's a one-stop shop. We have our public service unit up there and we've got all our various divisions that people need help on property taxes, or water bills or building permits, things like that," said Tyson Cragg, Lakeshore CAO.

Frontline municipal services were moved to the Atlas Tube Centre during renovations. All services are now back at the municipal building on Notre Dame Street.

The project costs came in at just under $1 million.

"We're really proud that we were able to do an all hands on deck experience, a low budget price tag, on-time and be able to meet the needs of residents on an accessibility standpoint and more," said Lakeshore Mayor Tracey Bailey.
