Purple Hats Raise Awareness at Hospital

Bluewater Health and Lambton Public Health have been marking the period of P.U.R.P.L.E. crying the month of November. It's to draw awareness to shaken baby syndrome, caused by the violent shaking of an infant or young child. Manager of the Maternal/Infant/Child Program at the hospital Sally Jenkins says they've handed out purple hats and educational DVD's to families of newborn children. She says there's all the traditional ways of comforting a crying baby.
