Two suspects sought after woman attacked in apartment unit

Sarnia police have arrested one woman and are looking for two others accused of breaking into an apartment unit and attacking a female occupant.

At around 3 a.m. December 9, the 21-year-old victim was in her bedroom on the phone, in the process of closing her door, when she was confronted by one of the suspects that gained access to the residence located in the 100 block of Queen Street.

Police said the intruders, who were looking for someone that was not present at the time, were able to push the door hard enough to knock the victim back and to the ground.  It appears that all parties were known to each other.

Police said the three attackers struck the victim a number of times and refused to leave, despite warnings from the victim that she would call police.  During the assault one of the suspects lost a blonde wig she was wearing exposing her hair as being black and curly.

Fortunately, the victim remained on the phone during the incident -- the person on the other end of the line rushed to the unit at which point the three suspects immediately scattered.  The victim required medical attention as a result of the assault.

Police have arrested and charged 36-year-old Natasha Marie Elie, of Sarnia, with one count of break and enter, one count of assault, and one count of mischief under $5,000.

Police are now looking for 26-year-old Alissa Jordan Havers, and 20-year-old Nancie Kaitlyn Rogers, both from Sarnia.  The two are wanted for one count of break and enter, one count of assault, one count of mischief under $5,000.  Havers is facing an additional charge of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

Anyone with information regarding the suspects' whereabouts is asked to contact the Sarnia Police Service at 519-344-8861, extension 0, or Sarnia Lambton Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
