The Plant Manager at Goderich Elevators says the cold winter and ice on the Great Lakes won't delay their shipping season.
Calvin Kerr explains they had hoped to start shipping grain early in April and it looks like they'll be right on target.
Kerr says he understands the ice breaker from Sioux Locks arrived in Goderich over the weekend.
With warmer temperatures on the way, Kerr figures the rain in the forecast will melt more ice and the wind will clear more of the ice away.
He's not expecting any delays in the Goderich Elevators shipping schedule this spring.

Despite the cold winter and the amount of ice on the lake, Kerr says it looks like they're going to be able to start shipping grain this month.

Since the icebreaker made it through to Goderich on the weekend, Kerr expects the situation to only get better over the next week or so.
