COVID cases continue downward trend

The daily average number of COVID-19 cases in Sarnia-Lambton has dropped below the double-digits.

Lambton Public Health said the average number of cases over the last week has fallen to nine from 11.

In its weekly update Wednesday, the health unit reported 64 new lab confirmed infections and no new deaths.

Three congregate living settings are dealing with active outbreaks, and there are fewer than five COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, there have been 12,804 confirmed cases in Sarnia-Lambton.

Sarnia police look to identify theft suspect

Police said the suspect rummaged through five unlocked vehicles on July 10 and stole items such as sunglasses, cosmetics, gift cards, loose change, and a wallet that contained debit and credit cards.

Criminal charges laid in April collision

On April 21 at around 4:40 a.m., a vehicle slammed into the traffic lights at the intersection of Finch Drive and Wellington Street and rolled, landing on its roof.
