A couple of road closures are planned in St. Clair Township this week, as Enbridge Gas continues work on its Dawn to Corunna project.
Starting on Tuesday, Courtright Line will be closed between Waubuno Road and Telfer Road, and Waubuno Road will be closed between Courtright Line and Moore Line.
The roads will be shut down in those areas until Sunday, August 13, weather permitting.
Further closures in the area are anticipated during August and September, and can be found below.
Enbridge Supervisor of External Communications and Media Relations Leanne McNaughton said work on the $251 million project is progressing well since it started on June 1.
"The purpose of the project includes decommissioning seven of our 11 natural gas compressors that are currently located at the Corunna compressor station," said McNaughton. "These were originally installed between 1969 and 1974, so they're approaching the end of their life cycle. So, we'll be replacing these."
The project also includes the construction of a new 36-inch diameter steel pipeline between the Corunna Compressor Station in St. Clair Township and the Dawn Operations Centre in the Township of Dawn-Euphemia.
It was previously stated that about 400 temporary construction jobs would be created to undertake the work.
McNaughton said it's important to maintain safe and reliable infrastructure to meet the demand of their customers.
"We appreciate the residents' patience," she said. "Noise from the general construction activities can be expected but we do work to minimize noise and disturbance."
McNaughton said the work is expected to be complete by the end of 2023.

The following road closures are scheduled, weather permitting:
- From Monday, August 14 to Saturday, August 19, Kimball Road will be closed between Courtright Line and Moore Line, and Moore Line will be closed between Tecumseh Road and Kimball Road.
- From Monday, August 21 to Saturday, August 26, Telfer Road will be closed between Courtright Line and Oil Springs Line, and Brigden Road will be closed between Oil Springs Line and Bickford Line.
- From Monday, August 28 to Saturday, September 2, Bickford Line will be closed between Brigden Road and Waterworks Road, and McCallum Line will be closed between Brigden Road and Mandaumin Road.
- From Tuesday, September 5 to Sunday, September 10, Stanley Line will be closed between Brigden Road and Mandaumin Road, and Mandaumin Road will be closed between Burman Line and McCallum Line.
