Aamjiwnaang to host candidates night

Aamjiwnaang First Nation members will have a chance to meet and get to know everyone running for band council on Wednesday.

An all candidates night will be hosted at the Maawn Doosh Gumig Community and Youth Centre on October 9 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

In total, 30 individuals are vying for nine councillor positions.

Each candidate will have an opportunity to speak and answer questions.

Janelle Nahmabin was acclaimed chief for the 2024-2026 term of band council in September.

Nahmabin had been serving as acting chair since Chris Plain stepped down from the role in June.
