High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

A Sarnia driver has been charged in a crash Monday that damaged a hydro pole.Lambton OPP, along with the St. Clair Township Fire Department and Lambton EMS, responded to a single vehicle collision at Petrolia Line and Plank Road shortly after 11 a.m.Police said the vehicle was headed west on Petrolia Line when it left the road and hit a hydro pole. The driver, and lone occupant, was not hurt.A section of the intersection was closed for about seven hours while Hydro One crews made the necessary repairs.A 64-year-old is charged with careless driving.
