Enbridge Gas teams up with Point Edward Fire & Rescue

Enbridge Gas continues to support area fire departments.

The utility recently donated 72 combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarms to Point Edward Fire and Rescue.

“The best way to reduce potential exposure to carbon monoxide is to properly maintain fuel-burning equipment,” said Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator for Enbridge Gas Megan Shannon. “These alarms are a critical second line of defence against carbon monoxide poisoning, known as ‘the silent killer’. We’re proud to support our communities, and raise awareness and help Ontarians implement these protection strategies.”

The alarms were distributed through the Safe Community Project Zero–a public education campaign with the Fire Marshal's Public Fire Safety Council (FMPFSC).

“We are extremely privileged to have an organization like Enbridge support fire safety within our communities. We would like to express our sincere thanks to Enbridge for their support,” said Point Edward Fire Chief Doug MacKenzie in a news release.

Enbridge Gas invested $450,000 in Safe Community Project Zero this year, and over the past 16 years, the program has provided more than 101,000 alarms to fire departments across the province.

Most recently, Enbridge gave $5,000 for education and training materials to Warwick Fire and Rescue.
