Woman injured in alleged kidnapping and robbery

Two people face charges in an alleged kidnapping and robbery.

Sarnia police said on Monday, August 18 a 50-year-old woman responded to someone at the door of her London Road home at about 10:30 p.m.

The known female suspect allegedly assaulted the homeowner and forced her to go to a nearby residence where they were met by a man.

Police allege the victim was assaulted and bound to a chair.

Investigators said at one point, a large edged weapon held against the victims neck and she was threatened if she didn't comply with the suspects demands she would be killed.

The woman was eventually released with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said on Saturday, August 23 at approximately 9 a.m. a search warrant was executed at a Sarnia home and a man and woman were arrested.

Officers located items consistent with robbery and kidnapping, 41 grams of cocaine with a street value of $5,031, and other items consistent with drug trafficking.

Chelsea Vansickle, 36, is charged with robbery, kidnapping, two counts of assault, two counts of break and enter, forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, uttering threats to cause death and possession for the purpose of trafficking a schedule I substance (cocaine).

Meanwhile, John, Lacroix, 51, is charged with forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, uttering threats to cause death and possession for the purpose of trafficking a schedule I substance (cocaine).

Vansickle and Lacroix were both remanded in custody.
